Legal Aid

Comprehensive support for new immigrants

Legal aid services provide free or low-cost legal assistance to individuals who cannot afford to hire a lawyer. These services ensure everyone has access to justice, regardless of their financial situation. Legal aid typically covers a variety of legal issues, including:

Family Law: Assistance with divorce, custody disputes, child support, and domestic violence cases.

  1. Public Benefits: Guidance on accessing government benefits like Social Security, unemployment, and food assistance.

  2. Criminal Defence: Some legal aid organizations represent individuals accused of crimes who cannot afford an attorney.

  3. Immigration: Support with immigration status, asylum applications, and deportation proceedings.

Clients must meet specific income and eligibility criteria. Legal aid may encompass consultations, advice, courtroom representation, and legal education.
