Kripa Sekhar is SAWC’s Executive Director. As an experienced qualified person, she brings in a wealth of experience to the Centre. Kripa came as an immigrant to Canada in 1990, and has made it her mission to represent the needs of the most vulnerable women. She has sat on many advisory committees and boards at the local, national and international level. She has made a significant contribution to address issues related to women particularly marginalized women. She has also worked closely with the Aboriginal community in Saskatchewan.

Kalpana Regmi is a proven asset to the Centre. Her expertise and experience in accounting ensures the Centre’s finances are well managed. Kalpana is a well organized person and is capable and meticulous in her work. She is a team player and is ever willing to help others. She is fluent in Nepali and Hindi.

Jayanthy Reynold is presently the Settlement Coordinator. A senior member of the staff, Jayanthie is capable and experienced. An advocate for her clients, Jayanthie is a valuable part of SAWC. She is a resourceful and lively member of the staff and good team player. She is fluent in Tamil and Sinhalese.

Mariya Wijayasundar a senior member of the staff, is the Centre's Intake Support Worker and Tamil Settlement Counsellor. Her interpersonal skills and calm demeanor combined with a ready smile make her very popular with the staff and everyone who walks into the Centre. She is a well organized person and buddies up with new staff to provide basic training. Maria is fluent in Tamil.

Supreeti Singh is the Punjabi/Hindi Settlement Counselor. Her educational background in Psychology combined with her past experience working with women’s groups and in community development makes Supreeti a great asset for the Centre. She has demonstrated her dedication to the Centre and is a hardworking, talented worker. She works out of the East Scarborough Storefront on Tuesdays. She is fluent in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

Subuhi Jaffrey is the Employment/Settlement Counselor and Volunteer Coordinator. Subuhi has demonstrated an unstinting commitment to SAWC and her work. She has a great sense of humour and Subuhi is also a well recognized artist. She has represented SAWC at various displays and outreach activities. Sabita Saha is SAWC’s Bengali Settlement Counsellor, has a Masters in Social Science from University of Sheffield (UK) and a Masters in Public Health from Boston University. Her commitment to the Bengal community and SAWC is extremely valued, and her willingness to undertake tasks and complete them exceptionally is commendable. Sabita is fluent in Bengali, Oriya, and Assasmese.

Sherab Aathytsang, is SAWC's Tibetan Counselor and Youth Coordinator. Her dedication, reliability and enthusiasm are visible in her work at SAWC. She is very active in the Tibetan community, and speaks Tibetan, Hindi, Kanada and English. The youth group has grown under her leadership, and is especially visible at the Masala Mehndi, Masti and the South Asian Heritage Month celebrations.

Vijaya Kula she has proved her capability as a hard working staff member. Vijaya is the Tamil Settlement Counsellor for the Centre at the satellite office in Malvern. She also works out of the Scarborough Storefront and has been very active organizing groups for senior activities and new mothers.

Anuradha Sinha on Thursday afternoons has the Centre buzzing with activity as the seniors group meets to connect, learn and share their experiences. Anuradha is the Coordinator of this group and has done a great job in bringing it together. Anuradha is highly qualified and brings experience and education to the Centre.

Thanusha Rajeswaran has served on the SAWC board for many years as an executive committee member, as well is SAWC’s Program Manager. She has a degree in Psychology with a certificate in advanced counselling. She has many years of experience in volunteer work at the university level and provides SAWC with honest, strong and supportive leadership.

Vino Shanmuganathan has a degree in Sociology and Women’s Studies from York University. She conducts outreach to diverse communities and helps build networks. She dedicates her time to teaching conflict resolution to youths. In additions, she uses an anti-racist and feminist approach to raise awareness for the Centre. She speaks English, Tamil and French.

Dina Sousa is our warm and friendly Office Administrator who has a diploma in Social Work. She has a vast amount of experience working with non-profit organizations. As well, she has worked in women shelters to help address issues of abuse and violence prevention. She is fluent in Portuguese.
